The Flavor of Green Tea Over Rice - OZU YASUJIRO'S, Royal/TNEW

Ochazuke (hot green tea poured over rice and accompaniments) is a classic dish in Japan associated with simplicity and homey refinement. Its subtlety also calls to mind influential auteur Ozu Yasujiro, known for such classics as Tokyo Story and dozens more. Tonight we pair the dish with Ozu's, Flavour of Green Tea Over Rice, produced at the end of the U.S. occupation of Japan, and just before Tokyo Story. Join us before the screening for dinner, a lecture and a discussion on the dish, the film, and the back stories of both.
