Details
Angel’s wish was to have a Mardi Gras-themed Celebration of Life where no one wore formal black funeral attire, but instead donned the Mardi Gras colors of purple, green, or gold. The family has also added “Angel red” and Japanese hapi coats. Of course, you may come in anything you feel comfortable wearing. This will be a party, not a funeral. This is a community event, and everyone is invited to share in SPIRIT, CULTURE, and COMMUNITY as we celebrate the life of Angel Nishinaka, the “matriarch” of the Nishinaka/Itomura family.

A Chance To Dance
We are having a “Mardi Gras Ondo”! The Mardi Gras party following the service will include singing, dancing, and performances-a true COMMUNITY EVENT that all are welcome to join and participate in. A Skidrow-kyo/Little Tokyo Dance Club Mardi Gras Ondo will feature Ondo dancing, Taiko performances, open-mic karaoke, and more. Please feel free to invite others. Whether you join us on the dance floor or enjoy the festivities from afar, it is guaranteed to be a spectacle to watch.

Please help us fulfill one of our matriarch’s final wishes by creating a party where EVERYONE shares in SPIRIT, CULTURE, and COMMUNITY. Needless to say, our send-off for our mom, grandma, and great-grandma will be as unique as she was.
