About Japanese New Years Eve Tradition Seattle Bell-Ringing
On New Year’s Eve, Seattle Betsuin will host the Joya no Kane year-end bell ringing ceremony. This traditional event is a time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the new year ahead. It is also a time of renewal and fresh beginnings. During this ceremony, participants will have the chance to ring the temple bell (108 times), each time representing the release of one negative emotion or thought. This ceremony is open to all and will be accompanied by traditional Japanese music and singing. Afterward, everyone is invited to a celebratory meal at the temple where they can share their hopes and dreams for the new year. Please join us as we ring in the new year with joy and hope.

Please check with the website for the latest information.
