Experience Mochitsuki, a cherished Japanese New Year tradition centered around the ceremonial pounding and sharing of mochi to welcome health, happiness, and community in the year ahead. Hosted by the Crow Museum of Asian Art in collaboration with local Japanese cultural organizations, this family-friendly event invites the Dallas-Fort Worth community to experience one of Japan’s most meaningful seasonal customs through live demonstrations, tastings, and hands-on cultural activities.

• Live mochitsuki (mochi-pounding) demonstrations

• Cultural performances by local artists (final lineup to be announced)
• Special display of nengajo (New Year’s greeting card) contest winners from local outreach schools
• Opportunity to tour the Crow Museum of Asian Art
• Free with registration and open to all ages
