The devastating events of March 11 with magnitude 9.0 earthquake and massive tsunami and the ongoing crisis at Fukushima's damaged nuclear reactors have plunged Japan's people into mourning. But this tragedy has also reaffirmed the nation's grace, dignity and strength.

Southern Californians know all too well the threat and devastation of earthquakes. But the Japanese and Californians are bonded by much more than this shared concern. We stand united in our common history and warm friendship, and it is in this spirit that we invite you to our special program supporting northern Japan.

100% of the proceeds go to the 2011 Japan Relief Fund created by the Japan America Society, and donations are tax deductible.

This event is sponsored by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and the Southern California Research Center for ALPD and Cirrhosis, and is supported by the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles and the Japan America Society.

Suggested donation at the door is $15 and up.
