Fuji to Hood 2024: A Celebration of International Craft Beer, Cider, and Japanese Culture
Join us for the biennial Fuji to Hood festival on July 20th at The Redd events venue in southeast Portland. This unique event, which alternates between Portland and Tokyo, brings together 22 breweries and 3 cideries from Oregon and Japan to create 25 exclusive beers and ciders. The festival is more than a beer tasting; it's a cultural experience celebrating the rich ties between Japan and Oregon, established through the sister-city relationship between Sapporo and Portland since 1959.

Festival Highlights
• Collaborative Brews: Enjoy innovative creations like Farmhouse Ale with Wakame seaweed and citrus, Hefeweizen with Yuzu, and Matcha Porter. Each brew incorporates a special ingredient from the collaborating country, promising a taste adventure.
• Wine, Spirits, and Sake: This year, the festival expands beyond beer and cider to include SakeOne, Shiba Wichern Cellars, and Stone Barn Brandyworks, offering a diverse selection of high-quality beverages.
• Delicious Food: Savor Japanese-inspired dishes from local favorites such as Lardo Sandwiches, Miyamoto Sushi, and Ramen Ippo. Don't miss out on traditional sweets from Oyatsupan Bakers and Mikiko Mochi Donuts.
• Cultural Performances: Experience the vibrant Japanese culture with performances by Obukan Kendo Club, Team Japonesque, and the dynamic turntable duo RuShFunk. Enjoy the rhythms of Takohachi Taiko drummers.
• Crafts and Vendors: Explore handmade Japanese kitchen knives from Seisuke Knife, traditional stamps from Cataround Stamps, and unique gifts from East Winds Co. and Korokoro Workshop. Admire vintage Japanese cars from The Retro Japanese Auto Club.

New for 2024
• Project Vinyl: Discover music collaborations curated by Tokyo-based producer Chikaramanga, featuring samples from 1970s and 1980s Japanese records. Enjoy these tracks and an exclusive Japanese “City Pop” mix via QR code on the official festival beer "Project Vinyl," a rice lager from Level Beer.
