2024 - 8th Annual Cherry Blossom Petal Tour, 5K Set To Delight In Greenport (Tour Showcase 300+ Cherry Blossom Trees- 7 Different Varieties..)NEW

The Cherry Blossom Petal Tour season in Greenport officially starts on Saturday and runs through Mother’s Day weekend, with tours guided by a free map provided by AgroCouncil. The tour showcases over 300 cherry blossom trees of seven different varieties, making Greenport a designated official Tree City by the National Arbor Day Foundation. Proceeds from the tour benefit the Greenport Village Tree Committee and the Village of Greenport Business Improvement District's beautification committee.

The map leads visitors through the main and side streets lined with cherry trees, highlighting shops, restaurants, art galleries, and other attractions in Greenport's business district. Participating businesses offer cherry blossom-inspired drinks, desserts, and gifts for purchase. The opening day schedule includes a 5K race starting with the National Anthem at 9 a.m., followed by race awards at 10:30 a.m. At 11 a.m., there's a Traditional Japanese drummers and Kabuki Dance performance at Third Street Park, and at noon, the 2024 Greenport Cherry Blossom Petal Tour begins at participating businesses, featuring blossom-themed offerings and interactive art sponsored by North Fork Arts Collective and Veme Studios.

Runners can register in advance for the 5K for $30, which includes a T-shirt, or pay $35 on the day (without a free T-shirt). Free maps are available at participating businesses, Greenport Village Hall, Floyd Memorial Library, and the AgroCouncil information center.
