The Central California Koi Society (CCKS) will host its 43rd annual Fresno Koi Show on Saturday and Sunday, September 30 - October 1, 2023, at Woodward Park in the Group Activity Area (next to Shinzen Friendship Garden). The Fresno Koi Show is hosted in partnership with the Shinzen Friendship Garden. Admission to the koi show is free and open to the public.

The 2023 Fresno Koi Show sponsor opportunities packet, exhibitor packet, vendor packet, and banquet ticket information are now available below! Contact Rosimeri Tran at [email protected] for information.

Guests at the koi show can visit Shinzen Friendship Garden to see the amazing gardens with waterfalls, koi pond, iconic moon bridge, and the Clark Bonsai Collection.

The Fresno Koi Show is one of the longest-running events of its kind in the Nation. Local and out-of-area hobbyists and enthusiasts exhibit their prized koi fish and share their passion and knowledge with the public.

The koi fish exhibited in competition at the Fresno Koi Show range in size from about 6 to 36 inches long and can be of superb quality. Judges from the American Koi Judges Association (AKJA) will critique the koi for best quality, variety, and size.

Hundreds of koi fish will be for sale at the Fresno Koi Show from local and state vendors. Many koi are imported directly from top breeders in Japan. RNR Koi in Fresno is the presenting sponsor and will have koi fish, koi food, and its RNR Advantage stainless bakki shower filtration systems for sale at the show.

“Koi fish are like living art, they have a variety of patterns, colors, and make amazing pets. Koi can recognize their owners and be extremely friendly,” said Lisa Lamoure, CCKS President.

Vendors will offer koi food and products, art, unique home décor, gift items, and local food trucks with food available for purchase. Koi and non-koi related items will also be raffled or available for bidding in a silent auction.

With over 1,500 people in attendance each year, this highly anticipated and fun event is the only fundraiser hosted by CCKS each year. Proceeds are used to host the show and to continue the centuries of tradition, art, and culture of koi and pond keeping flourishing in our community. CCKS will also make a donation to the Shinzen Friendship Garden to support their koi pond and koi health.

Previous Event Information
We are excited to be at a new venue this year at Woodward Park, Group Activity Area, next to Shinzen Friendship Gardens. This year there will be food trucks, a kids zone, plenty of vendors to choose from pond and koi dealers, to arts and crafts, as well as celebrity, Eric Triplett of the Pond Digger series will be a vendor and available to talk pond with everyone. Some of the things that you will see at the 41st annual Central California Koi show are different varieties of koi ranging in size from small 4”-6” to the very large and in some cases jumbo size which is 30” and above. Also there are koi vendors here selling koi and pond products, several are traveling as far away as Los Angeles as well as from the Bay area, they will have products that you would not be able to buy here in Fresno.

We will have an information booth set up where the public can stop by and ask questions regarding becoming a new member or any question relating to koi and their care. Also, there will be a koi show booklet showcasing our koi show and koi club. This is a great opportunity to join our club to learn more about koi and pond care.

The Central California Koi Society (CCKS) was founded in 1978 in Fresno, California with the help of Duncan Water Gardens. The founding members were a group of Koi enthusiasts that came together to promote and enlarge the hobby of Koi keeping, breeding, and exhibiting Koi in the Fresno area. CCKS soon became a member of the parent club “Associated Koi Clubs of America” (AKCA). Today the AKCA is 104 registered individual Koi Clubs across America. The first CCKS Koi Shows were held at Duncan Water Gardens until the late 1980’s and since then we have always held an annual koi show, to help showcase this hobby.

So if you are a koi hobbyist and would like to learn more about our koi club, please stop by our information booth where we can answer your questions.  We will have membership forms available, along with our monthly newsletters.

The koi show is free to attend.  Please come and see some of the most beautiful koi competing for the top honor of Grand Champion. Bring the whole family out for this fun event; there is even a raffle for a chance to win a $250.00, $100.00 gift card or Apple Air Pods.
