Santa Anita Ave., South El Monte, CA 91733). This family-friendly outdoor event is open to all and offers a full day of Okinawan culture, live entertainment, interactive games, and cultural showcases. Highlights include the only Okinawa-style Bon Odori in Southern California, Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko performances, high school scholarship awards, and traditional games like tama-ire (bean bag toss), water balloon toss, and chinahichi (tug-of-war).

Golf cart service is available for members with physical limitations. Food will not be sold on-site, but bentō lunches and raffle tickets are available for pre-order. Attendees can also participate in raffles for prizes such as a Toshiba 43” 4K Smart TV, Dodgers tickets, and more-winners do not need to be present for the main raffle, but must attend to win basket raffle prizes.

Commemorating OAA’s 115th anniversary, the event will feature a special live performance by Takane Kochihira, a renowned Okinawan lyricist and singer-songwriter. The picnic, a tradition dating back to the 1930s, continues to be a joyful multigenerational gathering that strengthens bonds through shared heritage.
