A film noir vibe... An evening of sights and sounds with femme fatales in dazzling gowns and a journey into the world of samurai and geisha with vintage and modern interpretations by Kimono SK
Nisei Week Japanese Festival is celebrating its 75th year of Japanese and Japanese American culture. It is one of the oldest and largest ethnic festivals in the United States. One week in August is designated for cultural events, a parade, a new festival queen selected, sporting events and more, however, activities and events are held throughout the year to celebrate the importance of sharing our Japanese culture and heritage.http://www.niseiweek.org/
On November 7th, in the Japanese American National Museum in downtown Los Angeles, Nisei Week will present a very exciting fashion event featuring Kimono SK. Sueko Oshimoto of Kimono SK is a world renown kimono stylist and designer. Her creations have been seen in numerous international fashion publications, films (most recent: Wolverine with Hugh Jackman and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), television (J-Pop groups, commercials - Miranda Kerr last year) and music events and videos. Sueko has designed the Miss Japan Miss Universe national costume twice and has just been confirmed to design for the present Miss Japan Miss Universe.
