The Annual Japanese Obon Festival featuring Japanese food, games, dancing, and performances by Spokane Taiko along with Obon Odori, music & crafts, exhibits of traditional Japanese art, and Anime demonstrations.

The Spokane Buddhist Temple will be reviving its annual Obon Festival. Similar to other temples, this event is a major Buddhist Holiday honoring our past ancestors by hosting a bazaar type event. Our current plans include the following: We are offering Senbei crackers, Chicken Rice Bowls, Mochi desserts & Green Tea Smoothies. The event also boasts a variety of games for kids of all ages including Ping Pong Ball Toss, Tic Tac-Toe and a Putting game. Inside the gym, we will be hosting exhibits including Sumi-E, Ikebana, Bonsai and more. Demonstrations will also be held on the stage. The highlight of the event is the Bon Odori or Bon Dancing to be held on the green.

If you are interested in volunteering at the event. We will have sign up sheets at the temple.
