Track Info. The 1.8-mile, 14-turn circuit incorporates streets of downtown St. Petersburg and a section of runway at Albert Whitted Airport. After the long front straight, there's a tight right-hander into Turn 1 followed by a quick left-hand turn. Many drivers have gotten into trouble here over the years. There are also two long straights with heavy braking zones that provide exciting overtaking opportunities.

On January 1, 1914, young aviator Tony Jannus made history by piloting the world’s first scheduled passenger airline flight from St. Petersburg’s downtown yacht basin to Tampa.
