Experience the dynamic art of Taiko, Japanese Drumming, as Mirai Daiko presents an exhilarating visual and music experience at the Curious Theatre on Saturday, August 7th, 2010 at 3:00 p.m.

Mirai Daiko is a professional Japanese drum ensemble comprised of first, second, and third generation emerging taiko leaders. Mirai Daiko LIVE will fill the Curious Theatre with powerful resonating beats and captivate the audience with innovative movement and choreography.

This concert pays tribute to traditional taiko rhythms and Japanese music with hand-made taiko drums, folk dancing and singing, the Japanese koto (harp), and shinobue (flute). The production also features cross-cultural collaborations with guest artists, including Hip-Hop dancers, up and coming fusion saxophonist Asia Fajardo-Wright, and African Djembe drummer Fatu.

Don't miss this exciting and unique intercultural performance celebrating the past, present, and future of taiko!
