Welcome to San Jose's Japantown

Formerly the Jackson-Taylor Business & Professional Association, the Japantown Business Association continues the legacy of community and business support of the old Chinatown/Japantown area. The JBA manages the local Business Improvement District (BID). It became the third BID in San Jose in 1987.

Current objectives
* To promote public awareness and appreciation for Japantown.
* To work with local government agencies to promote and preserve Japantown as a cultural and historic resource.
* To encourage the preservation of photos and artifacts that reflect the ethnic and historical fabric of the community.
* To sponsor special events and fundraisers that support the JBA goals, such as the year-round Sunday Farmer's Market.
