2023 Japanese Autumn Festival (Traditional Japanese Festival Games, Parade, Dance, Manga Drawing Workshop, Calligraphy, Fishing & Japanese FoodNEW

The Japanese Autumn Festival, organized by the Madison Japan Association in collaboration with Beni Daiko and Neighborhood House Community Center, will take place on September 23, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Neighborhood House, 29 S. Mills St., Madison, Wisconsin. This lively event offers a variety of activities and entertainment, including live performances by Beni Daiko Drumming Group, Okinawa Eisa of Wisconsin's dance and drum routines, and Hojo - Sword Kata by Daikozen-ji Temple. Attendees can join in the traditional Japanese festival games, a mini parade with a Mikoshi (portable shrine), and the Bon Odori festival dance. The festival also features engaging activities such as a manga drawing workshop and calligraphy, along with fun games like water yo-yo fishing. And of course, attendees can savor Japanese cuisine, including chicken kara-age, gyoza, spring rolls, and curry, available for purchase from Ramen Kid. Admission is free, and there will be opportunities to buy food, drinks, and raffle tickets with cash.
