Oak Glen Apple Ranch Experience.
This may not be a traditional Japanese event or cultural experience, but it's a fantastic seasonal activity for couples, families, and friends. Looking for an adventurous trip that only takes half a day-or longer if you’d like?

Oak Glen offers clean family fun year-round. Stroll through orchards, taste mountain-fresh apples and cider, enjoy hot apple pie at cozy family-run restaurants, feed animals in the petting areas, or browse the many specialty shops scattered throughout the Glen. RV sites, camping, and group accommodations are also available.

In the Fall, select ranches still offer the chance to pick your own apples, make cider, or enjoy live country music and dancing. You can also visit a one-room schoolhouse, hop on a hayride, or take a peaceful nature walk.

Experience the apple harvest and vibrant Fall colors, the quiet beauty of Winter snow, the blooming Spring apple blossoms and festivals, or the cool Summer air-perfect for berry picking or a country picnic.

If you're in the Los Angeles area, this scenic spot is closer than you think. You won’t believe what you’ve been missing.

Summary Highlights
• Beautiful outdoor mountain drive
• Delicious apple pie and fresh cider
• Great food options - try Riley's at Los Rios Rancho
• Best time to visit: September to November (call ahead for exact dates)

Japanese-City.com Editor's Tip
Escape L.A. traffic and take one of the most scenic drives to a peaceful, picturesque destination. Oak Glen Road features a series of apple ranches, shops, and restaurants nestled in nature. Though fewer farms remain since COVID, the experience is still rich and refreshing.

Oak Glen Road - Apple Ranches
Los Rios Rancho remains a favorite stop along Oak Glen Road. As you drive the peaceful, single-lane road, you’ll pass apple farms, tasting rooms, rustic shops, nature trails, and scenic overlooks. Take your time. Many of these locations are worth stopping at for a walk, snack, or photo.

A Perfect Seasonal Getaway

Attractions along the route include:
• Fruit stands and apple tastings
• Fresh-pressed cider and juice
• Nature trails and walking paths
• Petting zoos and hayrides
• Live music and craft shops
• Fall pumpkin patches
• Great food and picnic spots

Bring your camera-it’s a memory-making trip whether you're with kids, friends, or your partner. For peak apple season, try to visit in September or October. By late November, many farms begin winding down.
