West Los Angeles UMC Asian Cultural Bazaar 2016. ANOTHER CHANCE TO DANCE !!! Are you sad the Summer Dance Season is over Centenary UMC / Little Tokyo Dance Club is hosting a Public Bon Odori / Ondo on Saturday September 17th starting at 2:40 pm in West Los Angeles at the West Los Angeles UMC Asian Cultural Bazaar. Centenary UMC / Little Tokyo Dance Club (Little Tokyo / DTLA) has been hosting public ondo's for many years in Little Tokyo / DTLA and now has the opportunity to "take the show on the road" to the "Westside" giving bon odori / ondo dance enthusiast "ANOTHER CHANCE TO DANCE."

This is a open public ondo, all welcome to participate. Come to dance, come to learn, come to watch in the spirit of culture and community. For those unfamiliar with Centenary / Little Tokyo Dance Club events, dancing will be a mix of ondo, traditional bon odori, Nisei Week, pop ondo and more than a few "surprises." For people unfamiliar with Traditional Japanese Festival Dancing this is a "must" attend event. Bon Odori / Ondo dancing is a form of Japanese Folk Dancing that all can participate in, no dance experience necessary.

For the bon odori / ondo dance enthusiast Centenary / Little Tokyo Dance Club guarantees you will not be disappointed, so wear your yukata, jinbei, temple or organization happi coat (or just come as your are), bring your uchiwa (open fan), Tenugui (towel) and fold up chairs as seating is limited. Any questions in regards to the Public Ondo please contact me Wesley Nishinaka at wnishinaka@aol.com or call me at (213) 359 -7755. Below is additional information in regards to the event, address and parking information.

We will have two public bon odori / ondo dance session: 1st at 2:40 pm and the 2nd at 3:30 pm (for those interested we will probably "ondo flash mob" a few times before and after the public ondo.)
