San Francisco, CA The Japan Society of Northern California is proud to announce the continuation of its Innovation Initiative and the return of its annual signature business event, the Japan U.S. Innovation Awards Symposium. The Innovation Awards program and symposium are conducted and presented in cooperation with the Stanford University US-Asia Technology Management Center.

Now in its fifth year, the 2015 Japan U.S. Innovation Awards Symposium will be held July 10, 2015 at the Stanford University Arrillaga Alumni Center from 1:30 - 5:30 p.m. Additional participant information and registration are available at: http://www.usjinnovate.org.

The Symposium will include a keynote presentation about a recent example of high-profile cooperation between Japan and the U.S. in innovation. Following Japanese Prime Minister Abe's emphasis on strengthening innovation ties during his recent visit to the San Francisco Silicon Valley area, these remarks will underscore the past and future role of the Japan U.S. Innovation Awards program indriving forward this continued synergy.

During the 2015 Innovation Awards Symposium, the Salesforce Emerging Leader Award will be presented to two dynamically growing, entrepreneurial companies: one from Japan and one from the U.S. Emerging Leader Award winning companies have already delivered a highly successful innovation to market and are beginning to demonstrate truly world changing impact.

In addition, the Symposium will feature five exciting Japanese start-up companies in a newly conceived Innovation Showcase. Typically earlier in their development than are Emerging Leader winners, Innovation Showcase companies are currently incubating innovations that have great disruptive or transformational potential.

Attendees will also have an unmatched opportunity to network with thought-provoking peers located at the intersection of Japanese creativity and Silicon Valley entrepreneurial skill.

Emerging Leader Award winners, Innovation Showcase companies and other Symposium speakers will be announced beginning May 25th.
