The sounds of the San Jose Taiko drums begin and end this day long festival of sharing the Japanese American culture and heritage through food, arts & crafts, entertainment and cultural exhibits.� Featured in the heart of historic San Jose Japantown, Nikkei Matsuri translates as: Japanese American (nikkei) Festival (matsuri).� Foods are made on site by local community organizations.� Arts & crafts, all created with the Japanese and Asian culture line the streets; many are hand made.� Entertainment is on two stages and features organizations within the community and traditional Japanese entertainment.� Cultural exhibits include bonsai, calligrpahy, hand crafted kimekomi dolls, and various styles of ikebana.
