The sounds of the San Jose Taiko drums begin and end this day long festival of sharing the Japanese American culture and heritage through food, arts & crafts, entertainment and cultural exhibits. Featured in the heart of historic San Jose Japantown, Nikkei Matsuri translates as: Japanese American (nikkei) Festival (matsuri). Foods are made on site by local community organizations. Arts & crafts, all created with the Japanese and Asian culture line the streets; many are hand made. Entertainment is on two stages and features organizations within the community and traditional Japanese entertainment. Cultural exhibits include bonsai, calligrpahy, hand crafted kimekomi dolls, and various styles of ikebana.

A 5K Walk/Run and Health Fiar, and children's activities are also featured that day. Please find us on Facebook and refer to our web-site for more information: www.nikkeimatsuri.org.
