*Nisei Week: 3rd Annual Los Angeles Tanabata Festival - Little TokyoNEW

Tanabata festival also known as the "star festival" will in Little Tokyo during Nisei Week.  The Tanabata Festival is in front of the MOCA The Museum of Contemporary Art (Which is next to JANM-Japanese American Nation Museum - same area).  There will be 100's of colorful hanging displays (streamers).  These displays are handmade by Japanese Organizations.  This is a great time to bring the kids for photos and to walkthrough the beuatiful display of handmade artwork.

Next to the Tanabata festival will have food booths, beer garden and a stage that will host performances.  In between the stage and Tanabat Festival will be the JANM Museum.  They will have booths with Japanese arts and crafts. 

Nisei Week Consists of many areas in Little Tokyo:

Fri Aug 12: 5:00 pm - Opening Ceremony - welcoming Tanabata festival to Nisei Week.
Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon: The Geffen/Moca Museum area will be open for visitors. All the streamers will be infront of the museum.
