The Japanese Traditional Performing Arts Organization
Friday, September 10, 7:00 p.m.
Master performers Wakana Hanayagi, Jyorokusho Kineya, Kikusa Katada and Yasoyo Kineya of the Japanese Traditional Performing Arts Organization present a concert of traditional Japanese music and dance in a Japanese theater setting. Included are musical pieces for nagauta, the ensemble that traditionally accompanies kabuki theater performances, and for koto, a large stringed instrument, like a zither, which has a long history in Japan.

Museum concerts are free with admission and seating is limited. Stickers for ensured seating will be handed out starting at 5:30 p.m. the evening of the performance. Member seating will then begin at 6:30 p.m. and non-member seating will begin at 6:45 p.m.
