The Cherry Blossom Festival SoCal celebrates its 10th birthday in 2011.
This event is produced by a 100% volunteer team and is a free entrance event to the public which promotes and educates the culture of Americans of Japanese Ancestry and the Japanese culture through the celebration of Cherry Blossoms.� The festival had 60,000 attendees in 2010.

Cherry Blossom Festival Southern CA - free admission. Main Stage � Music, Dance� Performances Entertainment, Kimono Fashion Show, Most Photogenic Dog Contest; Awards, Senator Daniel Inouye Cherry Blossom Leadership Awards, and Teachers Making a Difference Awards spotlighting 13-15 teachers from around Southern CA.� Kids Zone which includes Kids Crafts,� Storytelling & Entertainment; Hawaiian Village- entertainment & vendors; Cultural Pavillion; Martial Arts arena; Odori Dancing in the Street!; Craft Vendors & Food Court; J-Pop Stage and Beer & Sake Garden.

The Cherry Blossom Festival will also be presenting the World Premiere of "White Bird of Poston" a piece commissioned by the LA Opera for their Educational Division.� It is a story about a 9 year old girl whose family is interned at Poston.� The Sake Institute of America will be hosting its 3rd California Sake Summit which will be open to the public and we will present our 3rd series of Camp Stories including a showing of the documentary "Manzanar Fishing Club".� CAMP STORIES is a 'touring show' that gives 'voice' to images and impressions of life before, during, and after the WWII Internment Camps of Americans of Japanese Ancestry.� We are giving 'voice' to these experiences through remembrance, experience as well as documents and photos through the spoken word.� We have had a shows hosted by Southern California Public Radio, Cal State Fullerton, Ruby Gerontology Dept. and our 3rd will be held at the Festival.

New Exhibits in 2011
"Strawberry Farmers Forever", spotlighting 25 Orange County Strawberry Farms pre and post WWII (Project Kokoro, Orange County Buddhist Church) and "1940-1950's" Boyle Heights (co-produced by the Cherry Blossom Festival & Latino Heritage). �
