On August 1, the American Society of Hiroshima-Nagasaki A-Bomb Survivors and LA Koyasan Betsuin are holding a memorial service to honor those who have perished and to support those who survived the atomic bombings over Hiroshima and Nagasaki 65 years ago.

The service begins at 2pm at Koyasan Buddhist Temple, 342 East First Street, Los Angeles, in Little Tokyo.

The guest speaker will be photographer and writer Darrell Miho, who is currently working on a personal project documenting the stories of hibakusha (atomic bomb survivors) to create a traveling exhibit to educate future generations of the devastating affects nuclear weapons have on people's lives and to spread the hibakusha's message and their hope for peace. He will talk about his experience meeting with over 300 hibakusha in Japan, Korea and the US and how we can work together towards peace.

The service is free and open to the public. Please come and support those who have suffered in silence and learn how we can work together to make this world a better place.

Peace.
