The Olympia Chapter of the JACL established around 1980 or 1981. It is a break away chapter that was once part of the Puyallup Valley Chapter of the JACL. It is mainly comprised of local community members and although our members are generally Japanese Americans and originally had a majority of our Issei and Nisei generations but our membership isn't just comprised of just Japanese Americans and our later generations has more Hapas or Nikkei, then other ethnic backgrounds.

Summer Obon
Usually scheduled for the second Saturday in August. This second Saturday is normal.

Location of Festival
To be at the corner of Legion and Water Street in Olympia, Washington. It is next to the Capitol Lake.
