The Annual Buddhist Temple of Alameda Obon Bon Odori Festival comes back in July.  Obon Festival features Bon Odori (folk dancing), live music and taiko, flowers, carnival games, cultural exhibits, and drinks/delicious food.

Traditional dance, food, music and games for the whole family. It is a bright, charming event in the heart of the city for families and people of all ages.

New this year! You can sign up for our Obon Lantern Fundraiser online!
Obon Lanterns give members a way to honor and remember their ancestors and loved ones who have passed away. The lanterns decorate the path for the Temple’s Obon dancers.

The Obon lanterns are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The cut-off date to either renew or order a light is July 12, 2024.

The number of lanterns is limited.

Only one name per tag. The name will be typed both in Japanese characters and in English and attached to the bottom of the lanterns.
