Help Carry the Light of Hope

We are walking again this year to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society raise awareness and funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

We are participating in this walk on Saturday September 29, 2007 at the Rancho Cucamonga Epicenter in memory of April's Aunt Brenda Joyce (Johnson) Sauer who passed away from Leukemia in 1975 at the age of 27, and to honor all individuals who are battling blood cancer. We need your support to help accelerate cures and give hope to patients and their families. Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over. Did you know that:

  • Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer: Every ten minutes, someone loses the fight.
  • Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children.
  • Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.
  • The myeloma survival rate is only 32 percent.

Please make a donation to support our participation in the Light The Night Walk. By doing so, we'll be helping save lives. Be sure to check The Gaffney's Web site frequently to see our progress.

We can't thank our friends and family enough for helping us reach our goal last year. Please help us reach our goal again this year!

Thanks for your support! Joe, April, Alexis and Kieran Gaffney
