Okaeri's 5th Biennial Conference on November 10-12, 2023 is a gathering that centers the Japanese and Japanese American LGBTQ+ experience. The conference seeks to (1) build community, (2) educate, (3) provide support, and (4) foster understanding and inclusion for the Japanese and Japanese American LGBTQ+ community. While conference content centers the specific interests, issues, and concerns of the Japanese and Japanese American LGBTQ+ community and allies, attendance is open to anyone of any age or background, regardless of how they identify.

Covid-19 Protocol: To keep all participants as safe as possible, we will maintain the following Covid precautions. All attendees are required to be fully vaccinated on their COVID-19 vaccines per the CDC's definition effective September 15th, 2023. In addition, we require masking indoors except when eating, as well as a negative COVID-19 test within 24 hours of the event. Please see our full COVID-19 protocol HERE.

This year, we will be hosting our biannual conference. Please save the date for Friday, November 10th-Sunday, November 12th. This year, we will be hosting a hybrid conference virtually and in-person at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. We hope you can join us for a weekend full of meetups, panels, and workshops whether you are based in LA or out of town.
