The Girl’s Day Festival returns to the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at Long Beach State on March 2 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., celebrating Hinamatsuri, a traditional Japanese holiday honoring young girls' health and happiness.

The event will feature crafts, giveaways, activities, and music, including an opportunity for attendees to create origami dolls as a cultural connection. Traditionally, families observe Hinamatsuri by displaying Hina dolls in Heian-period court attire to absorb negative energy and bring good fortune. Garden Coordinator Kokoro Hyodo encourages all to attend, describing it as "a great way to experience the culture."
