The Okinawa Association of America (OAA) invites you to a special lecture on Tuesday, October 6th, 7PM at the OAA Center in Gardena. Ronald Y. Nakasone, Ph.D will be visiting from Northern California to share his reflections on the shamanic culture of the Ryūkyūs that includes ancestral veneration and female spiritual functionaries.

Dr. Nakasone is a member of the Core Doctoral Faculty at the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) in Berkeley, California and has published many works on Buddhist thought, aesthetics, art, and ethics; spirituality and aging; and Okinawan studies.

Admission is $5 for the general public and free for current OAA members. RSVP IS REQUIRED due to limited seating and parking. Please contact the OAA at 310-532-1929 or oaamensore@gmail.com to RSVP. Proceeds from this event will go toward future cultural/educational programming at the OAA.
