Happa Restaurant was established in August 2002.  Located on the first level of the New Gardena Hotel.  Starting off as a small restaurant, which served familliar Japanese / Hawaiian comfort food, with a single page menu.  Over time, the word spread about Happa, and as time has gone by, we have grown to becoming one of South Bay's favorite spots amongst many of the local Japanese/Hawaiian community.

Our goal was, and still is to offer great comforting meals that are reminicent of home cooked meals, while growing up in a Japanese / Hawaiian environment.  The South Bay area has a large Japanese / American community, so you will see some familiar favorite homestyle items on the Menu.  The special board changes daily, and this is where you will find some of our all time favorites like Braised Beef Shortribs, Braised Oxtail, Oxtail Soup, Stuffed Pork Chops, Meatloaf, Stuffed Cabbage, Cornned Beef Cabbage, and many others.

In late 2003, we expanded our Banquet Room to more than double the original size.  This raised the occupancy level to over 100 persons per party, and allowed us to host many memorable Birthday Parties, Anniversary Parties, Bridal Showers, Retirement Parties, Wedding Showers, and other Business events.

In 2005 we were back at it again, and completely remodeled our Banquet Room.  This time we added a full service Cocktail Bar.  Our goal here was to have the nicest bar in the area with a completely different look.  At first glance, you will find that our bar doesn't have the normal bar/tavern look.  We have a low counter which you can sit confortably in our soft leather chairs without having your feet hanging.  Our guests are the nicest people, and welcome all newcomers.  We also have a Karaoke system that holds over 135,000 songs, and host many live music events.

Just remember, the more we drink, the better you will sound.
