Placer Buddhist Church

The Placer Buddhist Church (PBC) is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu sect of Buddhism, affiliated with the Buddhist Churches of America.

Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills east of Sacramento, California, PBC was founded in 1902 and currently has nearly 300 members.

The resident minister is Reverend Tesshi Aoyama. Rev. Aoyama is also the supervising minister to the Reno Howakai.

The Placer Buddhist Church is located at 3192 Boyington Road in Penryn, CA, approximately 25 miles east of Sacramento.

Directions: Eastbound or westbound on Interstate 80, take the Penryn Road exit. The church is situated just north of the freeway behind the large service station on Boyington Road.
