The National Cherry Blossom Festival Event commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC,. Rediscover Spring throughout Washington, DC and be a part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival March 20 - April 17, for four weeks of celebration filled with food, fun, and culture!
The 2024 Festival is the 112th anniversary of the gift of trees from the Mayor of Tokyo to Washington, DC. The Signature Events you know and love are back in person, along with a wide variety of ways to experience Washington, DC as you can only see it once a year. And if this is your first time at the Festival, this is the year to see it! The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC, and celebrates the enduring friendship between the people of the United States and Japan.
