This summer, dive into one of the most popular genres in Japan: shojo manga! Learn about its history as you master the skills needed to draw the characters from hit romance, fantasy, and coming-of-age manga and anime series like Fruits Basket and Sailor Moon-and to create your own character in a shojo style. Add an interesting new tool to your artistic toolbox by trying one of Japan’s iconic styles with this 4-session course.

About Manga for Teens: Our manga courses for teens offer budding artists the chance to explore the rich world of Japan’s most popular cultural export in a group of like-minded peers and with guidance from professional artists. Students will get to draw characters from their favorite series and try a variety of popular styles, all while developing the fundamentals necessary to create original characters and manga with their own unique artistic voices.
