We’re taking a bonsai on the road to the Point Defiance Flower & Garden Festival in Tacoma, WA on June 3 and 4. Look for us in the Vendor Village and stop by for a free gift.

On Sunday, June 4 at 2:30 pm, our Curator, Aarin Packard, will deliver a talk on the Pagoda Stage at the Festival on the Elements of Design in bonsai. In this talk, Aarin breaks down the major design elements of bonsai art--line, shape, form, space, and color--and how these elements combine to create works of breathtaking beauty and complexity. Learn how you can identify these elements to visually interpret bonsai and enhance your appreciation of the art.

This Festival is a showcase of gardening in the Pacific Northwest with hands-on programming, garden tours, food trucks, shopping, lectures, live music, a beer and wine-tasting garden, and more. All ticket proceeds benefit the Tacoma Farmer’s Market and Metro Parks gardening programs.
