October 2022 Japanese Tea Garden's 127-year-old pagoda was completed.

The pagoda at the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park was completed in October 2022, after a year-long restoration project. The $1.5 million project repaired damage from an earthquake in 2022 and added new landscaping and seating around the pagoda.

About Restoration Project
The restoration project includes both structural repairs and aesthetic improvements to enhance visitors' enjoyment of the area. Work began in April 2021 and is expected to be completed by 2022. The reconstructed pagoda's roof is expected to be the crowning glory of the garden. It will feature a series of LED lights that will illuminate the pagoda each night.
