"MEMORY IN ACTION” is scheduled for Tuesday August 25, 7-8:30pm EDT / 4-5:30pm PDT

Topic: Obon/Bon Odori will be a topic of our upcoming JAJA meeting via Zoom

We will be remembering 75th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the role of Hibakusha and activist youth for peace. We are then exploring Obon festivals and how they are expressed in different regions of America and US, and the impact of Covid on the festivals.

We will also have a virtual group “Tanko Bushi” dance right after the meeting at 8:30pm which should be a lot of fun! It will be led by a precocious young African American teenager studying Japanese.
