To celebrate the final weeks of Hello from Japan, Please Touch Museum is partnering with Japan America Society and Shofuso House to offer a day of exploration and discovery of Japanese culture and traditions.

Explore what’s in the apron! Today, play with various toys that are on display in the Hello From Japan! exhibit.

Meet and Greet: Kimono Dressing
10-11 am
Hamilton Hall, Main Level
All ages with adult caregiver
Explore traditional kimonos with certified kimono dresser with Tamiko Laincz. Join Tamiko to look closely at the fabric, colors, and styles for different seasons.

Program Room: Kawaii Culture
11 am - 1:30 pm

Drop in any time to experiment with materials and process, as you create works of art inspired by your trip to the Museum and the cute Japanese characters you’ll see in Hello from Japan!

Performance: Yuki’s Journey

Yuki’s best friend has moved all the way to Tokyo! Help Yuki go on a journey through farms, rivers, and forests to get to the city.

Performance: KyoDaiko Drum Ensemble

Feel the power of traditional taiko drumming during a performance led by KyoDaiko Drum Ensemble. Afterwards, get up close and practice some of your own rhythms!

Get cozy and listen to stories told in a unique way.
