Interested in Japanese Kabuki theatre? Join us for a special class at JCCCNC focusing on a video of the Kabuki dance drama, "Fight with aKoiCarp."

A young samurai falls in love with a beautiful princess. They dance, enjoying the beauty of spring, summer, and fall. That is, until he glances at his beloved's shadow and realizes she's actually a carp, transformed into human form to avenge the death of her carp fiance....

The play features an all-star cast in one of Kabuki's most spectacular dance dramas! Preceded by the New Year's dance drama, "Sambaso."

Class is free and open to the public. Feel free to bring snacks. All ages welcome!

If you are curious about why Kabuki's unique combination of drama, music, dance, and spectacle continues to entertain millions every year, "here's your chance to see one of the finest Kabuki films ever made, free, amongst fans and experts who will gladly fill you in on all the social and historical aspects of the performance" (Flavorpill "Editor's Pick").
