The 2014 West Los Angeles Sawtelle Sakura Festival is schduled for Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 9 am to 12:30 pm at the Stoner Park that is laced with cherry blossoms all around the Park.

Special recognition shall be accorded to longtime Sawtelle Nikkei community pioneer, Tak Nishi.ï¿½ In addition, senior recognition shall be accorded to 90 year olds, Jack Ohigashi, Alice Umeda, and Kimiye Inabu.ï¿½ Also, to 80 year old Kuni Ishiwada.

Recognition shall be accorded by Mike Bonin, 11th District Councilman, who covers Westside of City of Los Angeles.ï¿½ Ms. Taeko Yamada from the Consulate General of Japan's office shall present recognition for Consul General, Jun Niimi.

The annual field day events (UNDO_KAI) will follow.ï¿½ All community members are encouraged to celebrate the Sakura Festival and field day events.
