Afuso�Ryu�Kenkyuu�Choichi�Kai�Los�Angeles�will be opening this year's Rosemead Lunar New Year Family Festival with a 30-minute set of traditional and contemporary folk songs from the Ryukyu Islands. They will be playing�sanshin, a 3-stringed lute descendant of the Chinese�sanxian, accompanied by taiko (traditional drums).

The City of Rosemead will welcome the New Year with a multi-cultural event that will feature live local and professional entertainment, great food from Kogi BBQ and other food trucks, a variety of merchandise booths, youth and family activities, and raffles. The event is free. Wristbands for attractions are $5. The community is invited to enjoy an international family celebration in Today's Small Town America! The City of Rosemead is hosting its annual Lunar New Year Family Festival on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 9155 E. Mission Drive, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
