The Torrance Sister City Association will hold its 42nd annual Bunka Sai Cultural Festival on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ken Miller Recreation Center located at 3341 Torrance Blvd. at Madrona Ave. This free event features cultural demonstrations of ikebana, bonsai, martial arts including: kendo, judo, naginata and aikido and dance, shodo, koto music, Okinawa taiko and dance and tea ceremony. Games for kids. Japanese food available for purchase. Free admission and parking. Hourly drawings for prizes. This event is a fundraiser for the TSCA student cultural exchange program which sends eight students and an adult to Kashiwa for three weeks. In August, TSCA will host Kashiwa students and an adult for two home-stays.
