Workshop: Japanese Paper Karakuri Art
Karakuri paper art uses mechanics to create movement. Artist-in-Residence Vinni Cheng will introduce students to the different applications of paper in Japan and the physics behind mechanisms we use daily (levers, cranks, etc.). Students will make their own paper Karakuri art to take home. This workshop will feature heavy use of X-acto blades. Ages 14 and up. This workshop takes place at the nearby Sakura Pavilion. Advanced registration is required.
