Workshop:ï¿½ Japanese Paper Karakuri Art

Karakuri paper art uses mechanics to create movement.ï¿½ Artist-in-Residence Vinni Cheng will introduce students to the different applications of paper in Japan and the physics behind mechanisms we use daily (levers, cranks, etc.).ï¿½ Students will make their own paper Karakuri art to take home.ï¿½ This workshop will feature heavy use of X-acto blades.ï¿½ Ages 14 and up. This workshop takes place at the nearby Sakura Pavilion. Advanced registration is required.
