Japan America Kite Festival� is an annual event that attracts up to 10,000 visitors. Since its inception, the festival has grown to become one of the largest kite festivals in Southern California! It also has an international reputation as the most "Family Friendly" kiting event worldwide. The event is open to the public with free admission and is presented by: Japan America Society of Southern California (JASSC) and Up Up & Away Kite Club

Raffle Rules
Raffle Drawings will be held at 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm at the Main Tent. The tickets in the raffle drum are eligible in all drawings held throughout the day. The results will be posted by the Main Tent. The prizes will be held until the last raffle at 4pm. At 4pm, any unclaimed and
remaining prizes will be raffled to winners who are present. You must have a corresponding raffle ticket to claim your prize.

Please be advised that photographs and/or video will be
taken at the event. These images may be used on JASSC website, JASSC Facebook page, press,
marketing materials, and publications issued by JASSC. By entering this event, you consent to JASSC photographing and/or videotaping and using your image and likeness. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify the official photographer at the event.

10:00 Let's Go Fly A Kite! Welcome Message and Introductions
10:05 Fighter Kites! Members of the North American Fighter Kite Association will demonstrate the
ancient art of flying Fighter Kites in a "round robin" tournament. Our Master of Ceremonies will
give an introduction of the demonstration and call the competition. 10:35 Alex Herzog, our 20 yr. old Kite Flyer Extraordinaire, will honor us with several flights throughout
the day. His first routine promises to be a showstopper�And we're just getting started!
10:45 Ben Lummas, our youngest Kite Flyer, will debut a new routine from his kite bag of tricks.
10:50 Teams Bi-Dance & Too Much Fun - Masters Class Champions Mark & Jeanette Lummas along
with Ron Despojado will thrill us with many breathtaking routines throughout the day.
11:00 Kids at Heart � The Dual Dynamic Duos of Cass & Carol Pittman and Jim & Lynn Foster return
to our festival this year and promise to delight us with one of their Quadline kite routines.
11:10 Team "819" � Gatineau, Quebec's own Jessica Lamarche & Dominic Guimond are making
their first appearance here in Seal Beach and you can bet it will be a memorable one. "O Canada!"
11:20 Chicago Fire � Returning this year is one of America's premiere demo teams celebrating over 25 years of spanning the globe flying award winning routines. Team Members Dan Brinnehl, Russ
Faulk & Josh Gordon's first demo of the day will have you begging for more.
11:30 Catch the Tail Contest for the kids! Prizes will be given to the winners. Santa Barbara's
Rakesh Bahadur will fly a kite with a long tail and your kids will run and try to catch the tail! This
will be done with several different age groups so many will win a prize!
12:00 A Moment for Monty � Remembering the One who started it all.
12:05 All Hail Naginata! We're thrilled to once again have Traditional Japanese "Stick Fighting" at our festival. The Southern California Naginata Federation will share this ancient art.
12:30 Senpokan Dojo � This year, we introduce yet another Japanese Tradition where Mind, Body and Sword come together. The Kumitachi and Tameshigiri demonstrations will leave you breathless.
12:50 Sport Kite Ballet � Young and Old, Dual Line and Quad Line, prepare yourself for stunning visual amazement. These beautiful and sometimes intense routines will draw you into an aspect of kite flying with no boundaries.
1:00 Ron Gibian � A chat with a top kite designer who has gained International fame.
1:05 Taiko from PROTA! � Join us as we welcome this new Troupe to Seal Beach, demonstrating the
ancient art of Taiko Drumming which depicts stories through the sounds of the drums.
1:30 Mikio Toki from Japan will showcase his "Theater in the Sky".
1:45 Sport Kite Ballet - Our World Champions will again perform award winning routines.
2:30 Kite Control � Our MC will go in depth with our Demo Artists and run through the motions of what it takes to be a Competition Sport Kite Flyer.
2:40 Brian Champie � As we look to the West, down the beach, we will see a huge display of fabrics and colors. Brian will stop by and give us a tour of what's floating in the sky.
2:45 Taiko � Round 2 � PROTA will again take the stage and bring you the rhythm of Taiko.
3:15 Senpokan Dojo � Once again, sharing the art of Kumitachi and Tameshigiri.
3:30 Candy Drop! You and your children will enjoy our version of Chicken Little's "The Sky is Falling" when candy magically falls from the sky. 3 separate drops for 3 separate age groups. A Big Thank You to the Ventura County Kite Flyers for their valiant efforts and sponsorship of the Candy Drop.
3:55 Dueling Kite Masters! Mikio Toki & Ron Gibian will share their latest creations.
4:05 Ondo Dance! - Get ready to join the traditional Japanese Festival Dance.
4:15 All Hands on Deck !!! - Sport Kite Ballet Grand Finale!!! � Here in Seal Beach, where the winds pick up in the afternoon, ALL of our Demo Flyers will be put to the test as they bring you the best of the best in expression of dynamic flight in more challenging conditions.
