Come to the "LAST" Ondo of this summer season! August 24th!
This will be the FIRST JAPANESE ONDO FESTIVAL at the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles. This event is part of the Music Center's Dance Downtown.
Come and share our culture with other Angelenos. Many of your favorites dances of the Obon's and Nisei Week will be danced so you'll know the dances and if you're a little rusty, lessons will be given by Christine Inouye. NO excuses. Minyo Station will perform and while you dance Geoge Abe will be keeping the beat for the dancers. It will be great fun. Add to the festivity and wear your yukata, happi or just come in your colorful street clothes. The event will be on Friday, August 24th and start at 6:30pm and end at 10pm. Its FREE! Come early, around 5:30pm, bring a picnic basket and have dinner on the plaza. They will also have a limited selection of booths selling food. There will be tables or bring a blanket. Just like a kenjinkai picnic. Sorry, no three-legged races- Ha Ha.
