Soto Group International presents a special one-night-only concert featuring 80-year-old Swedish-Japanese pianist Fuzjko Hemming in the "Arigato Charity Concert" at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Overcoming severe hearing difficulties, Fuzjko Hemming beat the odds to become a highly acclaimed concert pianist, sharing her gift for music with the world. Here is your chance to hear the stirring sounds created by this legendary Japanese-Swedish talent, owner of several prestigious music awards and platinum records.
Hemming has drawn raves from critics for her style, as "Gramophone" says she is "seeming to enter a romantic reverie to find and unfold the music's beauties and intentions." Experience this unique talent in the majestic setting of the Disney Concert Hall for a remarkable night of music.
The July 5 concert will feature works by Chopin, Debussy, Liszt and Mussorgsky.
A portion of the proceeds from the "Arigato Charity Concert" will go to the 2011 Japan Relief Fund for victims of the earthquake and tsunami of March 2011.
