Nanka Nikkei Voices: The Japanese American Family is a collection of personal stories written by members of our community covering a variety of topics:
1) Cultural Values
2) Rituals, Traditions, Celebrations
3) Family Stories
4) Home, Place, Community
5) Crossing Generations

Plus a glossary of Japanese terms to help younger generations understand the meanings of the words that were ingrained in their daily lives (gaman, shikata ga nai, etc., plus words of common daily use, i.e. foods).

Reading & Panel Discussion
The program will be facilitated by Iku Kiriyama including writers Roy Sakamoto, Bill Watanabe, Yosh Nishimoto, Gwen Muranaka, Samantha Masunaga and others. This will be a great opportunity to meet some of the authors.
