The forum brings together several westside Nikkei sharing experiences of their evacuation from the West Coast.� The speakers shall touch upon changes in the family from December 7, 1941, forward.� Each speaker is slated to share experiences of going to a Canadian as well as American concentration camp.� Other speakers shall focus on experiences of evacuation where the family unit did not go to camp or spent days in a Department of Justice camp such as Crystal City, Texas. Experiences from these four strands of evacuation shall provide further documentation to the pre-and post-WWII Nikkei experiences from previous Sawtelle Stories forums.
