The forum brings together several westside Nikkei sharing experiences of their evacuation from the West Coast. The speakers shall touch upon changes in the family from December 7, 1941, forward. Each speaker is slated to share experiences of going to a Canadian as well as American concentration camp. Other speakers shall focus on experiences of evacuation where the family unit did not go to camp or spent days in a Department of Justice camp such as Crystal City, Texas. Experiences from these four strands of evacuation shall provide further documentation to the pre-and post-WWII Nikkei experiences from previous Sawtelle Stories forums.
