LOS ANGELES, CA As the clock ticks closer to the start of the 2012 Honda LA Marathon on March 18th, another clock is winding down: online registration and the current pricing that goes along with it will close on Friday, March 9th. After that, runners will not be able to sign up again until the Expo on March 16th and 17th, and will pay a higher registration fee.

This will be the third running of the wildly popular Stadium to the Sea course, which gives marathon runners a unique opportunity to see the beauty and diversity of Los Angeles as they race on this iconic course from Dodger Stadium to the Pacific Ocean, passing many of L.A.'s world-famous landmarks along the way while being cheered on by hundreds of thousands of fans.
This year's marathon also includes a slew of new improvements in transportation, technology and race logistics, designed to enhance the race for athletes and spectators. There will be additional, more secure storage space for athletes' gear, improved traffic flow into Dodger Stadium for the Marathon start, and a prompt race start time at 7:24 am.

"Sign up now, and don't get left behind," said LA MARATHON LLC Chief Operating Officer Nick Curl. "If you're planning to run the Honda LA Marathon, now is the time to secure your spot at the starting line. We've made key cutting-edge improvements to transportation flow, more secure gear check, and we'll have more traffic and weather updates. It's going to be the best year yet!"
Runners can register for the 26.2 mile marathon at www.lamarathon.com or for the brand-new Charity Relay at www.lamarathon.com/charities/2-person-marathon. The charity relay allows two runners to join together in support of their favorite charity with one person running the first half of the marathon course and the other completing it.

Either way, race day offers a unique opportunity to see Los Angeles but the clock is ticking.
