To launch the 100th Anniversary of the Gift of Trees, the National Cherry Blossom Festival will collaborate with local and national entertainment to welcome springtime to Washington, DC. Guests will experience the story of how the gift of trees has developed into the Nation's Greatest Springtime Celebration, as told through a series of traditional and contemporary performances. Upon arrival to the Convention Center, guests will be greeted with a pre-show by strolling musicians, cultural exhibits, and historical imagery, creating a multisensory and interactive experience.
The main stage lineup will include renowned American and international artists, uniting for one momentous production. To emphasize the global appreciation for the cherry blossom trees, the Opening Ceremony will incorporate a wide spectrum of talent and genres. Ceremonial remarks from city officials, international dignitaries, and Festival leadership will be interwoven throughout the story and complement the program.
