Map of Mountain High Resort - Skiing/Snow Boarding, 24510 State Highway 2, Wrightwood

Mountain High is the closest major mountain resort to San Diego and is a great choice if you want to avoid mountain driving. For the boarders, Mountain High has five terrain parks, a halfpipe, a jib park and a 'chill deck' for those much-needed Red Bull breaks. A 20-acre tubing park called Mountain High North (formerly Ski Sunrise) is open daily during peak season, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekends. Tubing costs $15 for two hours or $30 all day.

Mountain High is the easiest day-trip resort from San Diego, but if you want to stay overnight, the town of Wrightwood has two motels and a few B&Bs where you can rest your weary bones.
